Horizontal slurry pumps are cantilevered centrifugal slurry pumps, which are designed for the handling of highly abrasive or corrosive high density slurry, and are widely used in Metallurgical, Mining, Petroleum & Chemical, Coal, Power Plants, Transportation, River dredging, Building material and Municipal projects etc.. Its construction can be divided into following types based on the various applications.
1.1 Type SH, SBH, SM pumps, are also called heavy duty slurry pumps. These types of pumps are fitted with thicker anti-abrasion wet-end parts and heavy duty base frames, so they are suitable for high abrasion, high density slurries or high head slurries with low density. They can be operated in multi-stage series installation within the maximum working pressure. Among them, type SBH pumps are suitable for low density but high head slurries or high density but low abrasion high head slurries. All the above pumps can also be used for slurries with some corrosion.
1.2 Type SL pumps can also be called light duty slurry pumps. Compared with heavy-duty slurry pumps, this type of pump has higher speed, smaller size, lighter weight. They are suitable for fine soilds, low density slurries or corrosive slurries. The weight concentration of the slurry is generally less than 30%, and SL pumps can also handle high density low abrasion slurries.
1.3 Type SG gravel pumps are designed with larger impeller passage, which are suitable for the pumping of sand and gravel, mud and other slurries with bigger solid particles.
1.4 Type SHR, SLR and SMR pumps are designed with rubber lined wet-end parts. Cover plate, frame plate and the rotating parts are interchangeable with those of SH, SL and SM pumps. They are suitable for fine solids and corrosive slurries.
